How to restore a website or specific files using JetBackup 5 Print

In this article, we will detail the steps needed to restore a website or recover data from JetBackup backups available in cPanel. JetBackup 5 is a powerful plugin that allows for backups and restores of files, databases, and emails.

Quick steps for restoring files with JetBackup 5

  1. Log in to cPanel.
    Access the cPanel control panel with your login credentials.

  2. Access JetBackup 5.

  3. Scroll down to the "Files" section and click on the JetBackup 5 icon.

  4. Select files to restore.
    In JetBackup 5, click on the "Home Directory" tab to access the list of available backups.

  5. Select the desired backup.
    Once you click on "Home Directory," you will see a list of backups. Select the desired one.

  6. Select files or directories.
    Click on "Change File Selection" to select specific files or folders that you want to restore.

  7. Select files or directories.
    After clicking this button, a modal window will appear with a list of folders and files in your hosting account.

Note that all websites are placed in the public_html folder:

  • The main domain files are located in the public_html folder.

  • Files for other domains (sites) are in separate folders within the public_html folder.
  1. Scroll through the list until you find the file or folders you want to restore.
  2. To restore a separate site, select the corresponding folder.

  1. To restore the main site, select all files from public_html, except for the folders of other sites.

  1. To restore a file, check the box on the left of the file in the lower right and click "Select Files".

  1. Confirm the restore.
    After selecting the files, click on "Restore Selected Items" and confirm the restoration. The task will be added to the queue.

The queue status “Pending” means the server is waiting for the restoration task to be processed.

The queue status “In Progress” means that you need to wait, and avoid any actions inside the cPanel account, till the restoration is completed.

The queue status “Completed” means that the restoration has been successful. If you get the queue status “Failed” you may try another date, or you may contact our Support.
