Information about a malicious site and how to deal with it Print

Often, the problem is revealed as follows: on an ordinary day, you open your site in a browser, and it throws a message at you that this webpage is fraudulent!

There is no need to panic, but try to react to the situation as quickly as possible.

Most likely, your site has been hacked!
Here is what Google writes and advises about this, which is closely related to browsers like Mozilla Firefox and, of course, Google Chrome. And here are our recommendations:

Identify and isolate the issue: Use a security scanner for websites such as Sucuri SiteCheck or VirusTotal to check for malware or compromised files.

Contact the technical support team: If you do not have the necessary skills to clean the site from malware, contact technical support for a detailed analysis. Specialists can identify the source of the problem and provide solutions to fix it.

Removing malware and restoring security
Clean compromised files: After identifying infected files, delete them or restore them from a secure backup. If you use a CMS (WordPress, Joomla, etc.), check and update all plugins and themes.

Update all site components: Ensure that all components of the site (CMS, plugins, themes) are updated to the latest versions. Vulnerabilities in old software can be easily exploited by attackers.

Reset passwords: Change all passwords for the site's admin accounts, including FTP, databases, and hosting control panel.

Check file permissions: Make sure that files and directories have the correct permissions (e.g., 644 for files and 755 for directories).

In general, all popular modern browsers use online databases updated with fraudulent sites: resources that contain phishing or malware! Try to analyze all the content on the site and take steps to remove unwanted content.

If your skills do not allow you to handle the current situation, then contact our technical support team for an analysis of the issue from our side.

After resolving the problem, you need to wait 1-2 days for your site to recover and be removed from the lists of various fraudulent databases. Various search engine bots are responsible for this, regularly indexing accounts on servers.
